Food Porn and Question

No energy for a recipe post tonight, so I’m just going to post some food photos not used in any of my previous recipe or Weekend Treat posts. But before I get to that, I want to ask for ideas… For my birthday, my sweet and thoughtful husband bought me a super fun and fancy immersion blender! Wheeeeee! I’ve actually been pining after one for a while, but now that I have it, I haven’t used it once! Tell me, oh wise foodie readers, what’s your best recipe using an immersion blender that I should try?? GO!

    You can’t beat an immersion blender for soups and pasta sauce — nothing like not having to run chunky, hot liquid through a food mill or blender. I also use it to make egg nog around the holidays and to mix the wet ingredients for cakes (like this olive oil cake: http://amuseinmykitchen.com/2012/04/29/rosemary-olive-oil-cake/). It’s just about my favorite kitchen tool outside of a good knife. Be sure to watch your fingers, though!
